Product Description
Originally published in 1939, this book contains a collection of vest and pantie sets in knitting including a silk set intended for wearing under evening attire, a cable knit set that hugs the waist line, simple stocking stitch sets, two easy-to-knit sets in an open pattern stocking stitch, and a ribbed set. These pieces are perfect for wearing under garments, but especially for use as pajamas or loungewear. Length of patterns can be changed by increasing or decreasing rows if you have a specific length preference for your undergarments. Patterns vary in size to fit a 33-34, 35-37, 32-34 and 34-36 inch bust -- but don't fret if this isn't your size. Also provided are unbound: basic directions for changing the size of a garment; instructions for measuring your body for vintage patterns; directions for choosing your size based on body measurements from the late 1800s through the 1950s; fittings guideline chart you can use to adjust patterns to fit tighter or looser based on your own preferences of a snug or loose fit with your clothing; knitting/crochet conversion instructions you can use if you like a specific pattern but are not skilled in knitting/crochet (or vice versa), you can do what you are familiar with. Sample pattern images are shown at the top of this page.
